Companion Pet Home Services aims to make the messy parts of having a pet family member a breeze. One of the big challenges of having a cat or dog in your home is all the fur, dirt, litter, and stains that come along with it. With transparent pricing and responsive service, Companion tackles these challenges for you, with weekly, biweekly, or monthly service.
Why is it important to keep your pet home clean?
Do you sometimes have itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing, or itchy skin? This can be a sign that you may have pet allergies. When you are allergic to pets, most people are not allergic to the hair itself. The allergen is the dander, which is made up of skin flakes, urine, and saliva, which is collected and trapped by the hair or fur. Frequent, thorough cleaning of all floors, carpets, and furniture can greatly reduce your exposure to these allergens and make your home more comfortable not only for you, but also for your guests.
Did you know? Cat allergies are almost twice as common as dog allergies. The main allergen in cats is actually a protein produced in their saliva called Fel D1, which spreads to their fur when cats groom themselves. It’s very “sticky”, making it difficult to avoid in cat homes.

Why should I get my litter box deep cleaned?
Litter boxes need to be cleaned at least once a month to keep your pet clean and your home smelling fresh! Traditional plastic litter boxes trap urine and feces, which accumulate and can cause odor over time. Litter Robots and other self-cleaning litter boxes need to be cleaned at least monthly too, even though they do the scooping for you. Litter Robots, although amazing and time saving, can trap odor and require regular cleaning.
Let Companion handle this for you – a professional deep cleaning will save you time, and is especially important for pet owners who have strong allergies to litter dust or cat urine, as this task involves getting very close to the source. This is also a physically heavy task, as the weight of cat litter can make dumping and disposing difficult to do. Companion’s litter box cleaning service will either sift and filter your litter for you, or do a complete discard and refresh (client must provide new litter). The empty litter box and hood will be scraped, thoroughly washed and scrubbed, and treated with Nature’s Miracle litter box enzymatic cleaning treatment to tackle those tough urine odors. Complimentary carbon filter replacement for all traditional litter boxes included.

Why should dog toys be cleaned?
Dog toys are common homes for fungi, mold, bacteria, and other contaminants. In addition, dog toys for pets that eat a raw or partially raw diet can harbor salmonella and listeria, which can spread to their humans.
It is very important to clean dog toys only using pet safe cleaners. Companion only cleans dog toys with pure castile unscented soap to keep pets safe and healthy. It is much better to discard a toy than to try to clean it with bleach or other harmful chemicals.

- Drinking fountain deep clean and filter change (filter must be provided)

- Litter box deep cleaning – scrape, wash, and enzyme treat up to two (2) litter boxes or one (1) Litter Robot. Complete litter dump and refill (client provides litter). Complimentary carbon filter replacement for all traditional litter boxes included.

About the owner
Kayla grew up surrounded by animals – cats, dogs, iguanas, snakes, fish, frogs, geckos, water dragons, and more were part of her pet family growing up. She always had a love for animals, but realized when she adopted her two cats after college living in a small apartment how hard it was to keep everything hair-free. Kayla graduated from Bryn Mawr College and had a full career in Operations Management and Compliance Management in startups, real estate, and human services before deciding to start Companion Pet Home Services. Kayla currently resides in Fishtown with her partner and two cats.
